The United Nations forecasts India's population could surpass that of China's around 2024 and is projected to touch 1.5 billion in 2030. Times Higher Education recently asked 50 Nobel laureates from across the world to identify the single biggest problem, planet Earth is facing. And guess what- majority recognized growing population as the single biggest threat!
Another global voice, Stephen Hawking cautioned “the planet is heating up. Earth’s population is expanding at an exponential rate, and the natural resources vital to our survival are running out faster than we can replace them with sustainable alternatives”.
